About Me
DVM & EPIDEMIOLOGIST
Senior epidemiologist and public health consultant with over 20 years of experience working with WHO, ECDC, FAO, the European Commission, and leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies. I trained as a veterinary surgeon and worked in veterinary public health in the UK before specialising in human epidemiology through the Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP) at the Spanish National Centre of Epidemiology, which gives me a One Health perspective. I have been deployed in field responses to Ebola and Zika outbreaks, have supported the COVID-19 response, and have evaluated respiratory virus surveillance systems in Spain, Ukraine, and across multiple countries in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
My consultancy work encompasses systematic and targeted literature reviews, burden of disease studies, background incidence rate estimation, adverse event analysis, real-world data analysis, health information systems assessment, surveillance system evaluation, EHR-based automated surveillance implementation, and medical writing. For medical device clients, I have conducted market assessments including estimation of procedure volumes by territory, patient population sizing, and review of clinical society guidelines to evaluate the market potential of specific products.
